Washington, D.C. – April 9, 2018 – The Tech Show, America’s technology and lifestyle talk show, formally welcomes Sonya Gavankar as its new permanent anchor. Gavankar has appeared on the program throughout Season 1 as a Technology Correspondent and fill-in host.
Tech Show executive producer April Carter says “We’re excited to welcome Sonya as the shows host. As the daughter of an inventor, she’s no stranger to technology and her personality and unique experiences add yet another dimension to the show.”
Gavankar is a seasoned television and media personality. In addition to hosting The Tech Show, her work with the Newseum brings a cohesive voice to its 250,000 square feet of exhibit space and interactive programming. She can also be seen hosting programs and providing commentary on everything from hard news to cooking shows on ABC and CBS affiliates, PBS, QVC, SXSW and even the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet.
Philanthropy is an important part of Gavankar’s life. She serves on several national boards that focus on education and social change, like the Hugh O’Brian Foundation, The Miss America Organization and Ladies America.
The Tech Show is currently wrapping up filming for season one at the end of June before gearing up for its second season in national syndication beginning this fall. Gavankar will anchor the remaining episodes in the show’s first season. Recently, the show’s production re-located to En Pointe Studios which sits within the Dulles Technology Corridor just outside of Washington, D.C., and began enhancements to its primary set which will be completed for the premiere of Season 2.
