The survey showed that online tax filers aren’t focusing on the task at hand. The top three things that people admitted to doing while preparing their taxes online were watching TV, browsing social media, and cooking dinner. In fact, 14 percent even admitted to drinking alcohol while preparing their return.
Despite the mistakes and the distractions, tax payers are still committed to preparing their own taxes online.
