The VA directed its experts to review the science of the symptoms (cough, wheeze and shortness of breath) that the National Academies of Sciences Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) found associated with possible particulate matter pollution exposure. The VA conducted extensive research and found a scientific rationale supporting presumption for asthma, rhinitis, and sinusitis based on exposure to particulate matter. Veterans and survivors who believe they may be eligible for the newly established presumptive conditions are encouraged to apply for Disability Claims, and Beth Murphy, Executive Director of Compensation Service Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) is here to tell us more.
